Upgrading the front brakes is only part of the equation. This TT Extreme rear big brake kit is designed to bring the rear of your 79 Series up to the same level, improving overall braking balance, stability, and control under load.

The kit replaces the factory rear setup with 4-piston forged aluminium calipers and oversized slotted and dimpled rotors, increasing braking surface area and improving heat dissipation. This results in more consistent braking performance, particularly when towing, descending long grades, or carrying a full touring setup.

With a larger swept area and improved clamping force, the system reduces brake fade and delivers more predictable stopping, especially under repeated or heavy braking. Testing has shown measurable improvements in braking distance, with further gains when paired with a front big brake kit or rear disc conversion.

As with all Terrain Tamer big brake systems, this is a complete engineered package. Calipers, rotors, pads, and hardware are designed to work together, ensuring consistent performance and long-term durability in real-world 4WD conditions.
