The 80 Series Land Cruiser was built with full-time 4WD, meaning the front driveline is always engaged — even when you don’t need it. This Terrain Tamer part-time conversion kit changes that, allowing you to run in 2WD for everyday driving and only engage 4WD when conditions demand it.

At the heart of the system is a centre diff spool, which locks the transfer case, combined with heavy-duty free-wheeling hubs that physically disconnect the front axle when unlocked. The result is reduced drivetrain drag, improved fuel economy, lighter steering feel, and less wear on CVs, front diff components, and bearings.
