This Stage 2 factory-style turbocharger has been purpose-built for early 1HD-FTE engines with the original Toyota-style (non-Garrett) turbo. Designed with New Zealand touring and four-wheel driving in mind, it delivers faster spool, stronger mid-range torque, and lower EGTs — without losing that factory bolt-on simplicity.

We’ve focused on response and drivability rather than chasing top-end numbers. Inside the genuine Toyota compressor and turbine housings sits a lightweight, re-engineered rotating assembly using a Supra-sized GTX billet compressor wheel, giving an 86% increase in overall size compared to the factory cast wheel while substantially reducing mass. The 45.8 mm compressor flows an impressive 38–40 lb/min, supported by an upgraded brass bearing system for improved load handling and durability.

On the turbine side, a nine-blade high-flow wheel reduces weight by 23% and improves exhaust efficiency, contributing to noticeably sharper boost response and reduced back-pressure. The result is stronger torque delivery, improved towing performance, and more consistent EGT control — ideal for touring, towing, or tackling long climbs.

This turbocharger is available with your choice of Toyota genuine gasket kit or aftermarket gaskets, depending on your budget.

On a factory-fuelled 1HD-FTE, boost response begins from around 1200 RPM, with 15 psi achieved by roughly 1500 RPM, making it one of the most responsive upgrade options that retains all OEM fitment points.
